Spelling Policy
Our spelling policy for quizzes and exams is this: you will lose one point for every three spelling errors. This includes all words, not only the taxonomy that we'll be starting next week, but the bones, stances, cusp patterns, etc that we've already covered. An error will be considered a spelling error if it does not significantly change the word (ie, it would still sound the same if pronounced out loud, no syllables added or subtracted). However, if the error makes it difficult to determine which word you intended, the entire answer would be marked wrong. For example, writing humorous instead of humerus would be a spelling error, but writing fibia or tibula instead of tibia or fibula would be an incorrect answer.
And remember, failure to use correct notation when writing a species name will count as a spelling error (capitalize the Genus, underline both the genus and the species epithets)!
