Words of the Week- Insectivores
Pectinate - Describes a comb-like tooth. Consists of a series of projections like the teeth of a comb.
Bicuspid - A tooth with two cusps.
Procumbent - Describes teeth that project forward, like the lower incisors of a kangaroo.
Patagium - A web of skin, in this case the parachute-like extensions of the colugo that is used for gliding.
Postorbital Bar - Extension of the postorbital process into a bar that completely encircles the orbit with bone (see coursepack page 41).
